Do you love the fashions of the 20s & 30s?  The seaming and dropped waists, the beaded net and floaty chiffons?  In this class you’ll learn how to recreate the styles of the mid-late ’20s and early ’30s, just in time for Art Deco Weekend.

1924 Green Goddess dress thedreamstress.comFirst, you’ll come up with a design based on period examples, and choose a drop-waisted bodice block: either a completely unfitted ’20s style, or a slightly fitted early ’30s style.  Then you’ll learn how to adjust it to match your design, and how to draft a skirt pattern to go with the bodice.  Finally you’ll learn about working with lightweight draping and beaded fabrics as you sew up your pattern.
