Take your sewing skills up a level with a class aimed at intermediate sewers who want to work on  advanced construction techniques and polished finishing details.

Working with New Look 6470 you’ll learn how to:

• make pattern adjustments to improve fit, such as altering the size of a collar, and stand
• do full and small bust adjustments with a single dart
• create fully finished shirt yokes
• sew collars with collar stands
• set in sleeves (depending on the view you choose) or finish sleeveless armscyes
• create beautiful front button plackets
• sew lovely buttonholes
• sew curved hems

More advanced students will also learn how to create french and flat felled seams, for a perfectly finished interior.

You’ll be making Views B or C, without a pocket.

Students should expect to do 1-2 hours of sewing a week outside of class.  Most students will finish their top within the 5 weeks.

High Intermediate = Suitable for those with intermediate and higher sewing experience: students who are capable of following a pattern on their own, have taken at least three classes since Absolute Beginners, or have made 3 different garments independently outside of classes.

Materials: Students will need to provide the pattern, the fabric and thread for their top and any notions called for in the pattern.  Recommendations will be provided when you register.
