Applique cushion the dreamstress

Cushion covers a fun way to spice up a room and refresh your decor.  And making them is a good way to learn new techniques, refresh your sewing skills, and simply have fun.  Plus, they make great gifts!

Bobble cushion The Dreamstress

In this class you’ll learn how to make two popular types of cushion covers: a cushion cover with an appliqued motif, piping or bobble trim, and an invisible back zipper, and a button front envelope cushion cover with working buttonholes and decorative reverse french-seam flanges.

Button Cushion The Dreamstress

As we work through the cushion covers you’ll learn how to set concealed (invisible) zips, make and sew in piping, and how to work machine buttonholes.  It’s a great way to brush up on your sewing and learn a few new techniques.

Materials:  Students will need to provide their own fabric, and contrast fabrics/trims for 2x cushions.  A materials list will be provided upon registration.  The class fee includes includes the zippers, buttons, piping, and fusing for both cushion covers.  Students can upgrade to bobble trim or more expensive buttons if they choose.
