Learn the basics of trouser construction as you make a fabulous pair of 1930s inspired trousers or culottes from the Scroop Patterns Eastbourne Trouser pattern.
In the class you’ll learn to:
- Work with interfacing
- Adjust yokes and curved waistbands for the optimal fit
- Sew precise pleats that lay smoothly and never come undone.
- Sew inset side seam pockets
- Sew lapped seams
- Set an invisible (concealed zip)
The trousers feature front pleats, a loose leg, and an easy, comfortable fit throughout the hip and waist.
Make them long, as trousers, or shorter, as culottes.
We aim to be as size inclusive as possible in all our classes. The pattern includes sizes Waist 61cm/24″ to 46″/117cm and Hips 86cm/34″ to 142cm/56″. If you are out of this size range, please email Leimomi and we’ll make every effort to re-size the pattern to include you.
Sewing Level: Intermediate. Students should be comfortable cutting fabric and with all aspects of using a sewing machine. They should also have some zip & garment construction experience. This is a good third or forth class after Absolute Beginners.
