Never sewn with knits?  Find them a little scary and daunting?  In this class you’ll learn all the basics of sewing with knit fabrics as you make yourself an easy T-shirt out of cotton, viscose or merino knit: the perfect wardrobe staple

We’ll work through basic tips to make sewing knit seams easy, with no stretching and warping; how to bind the seams without an overlocker; how to set in sleeves in knit fabrics (pattern dependent), and how to finish necklines and sleeve edges; and finally, how to hem a T-shirt for a professional finish.

This class is suitable for most sewing levels, from anyone with basic sewing experience, to more advanced sewers who haven’t worked with knit fabrics.

Materials: students must supply their own knit fabric and pattern (options include a free printable pattern):  suitable patterns and fabric guidelines will be sent upon registration
