Make a fun and swishy summer dress with a full skirt and princess seams.

The dress features an easy fit that skims the figure, two skirt lengths, two pocket options (side inseam, or patch pockets set into the side and side-front seams), two sleeve options (cap and flutter), a deep scooped neck, and front buttons.  The pattern is designed for woven fabrics.

Working with Leimomi’s princess seamed dress pattern you’ll learn how to:

• do fit-as-you-sew adjustments on princess seamed bodices to suit your individual curves
• sew princess seams that sit smoothly over your bust
• sew pockets that sit neatly and invisibly in the side seams
• set in sleeves
• make your own bias tape
• work with bias facings to get the perfect finish
• sew curved necklines so they sit flat, and are perfectly symmetrical
• sew front buttons

Students should expect to do 2-3 hours of sewing a week outside of class.  Most students will finish their dress within the 4 weeks.

High Intermediate = Suitable for those with intermediate and higher sewing experience: students who are capable of following a pattern on their own, have taken at least three classes since Absolute Beginners, or have made 4 different garments independently outside of classes.

Materials: Students will need to provide the fabric, thread, buttons, interfacing, and bias tape called for in the pattern  Recommendations will be provided when you register.
