The 1920s Vionnet Chiton Dress

Learn how to draft and make a striking dress inspired by innovative early 20th century couturier Madeline Vionnet.

The Chiton dress features an easy fit and simple shape elevated by finishing and construction taken taken from vintage couture, and adapted for the ease of the modern sewer.

The 1920s Vionnet Chiton Dress

My article on this dress is featured in the Feb/March 2015 article of Threads Magazine, and in the class I’ll cover all of the subtle details of finish and fit that can only be taught in person.

Suitable for those with low-intermediate and higher sewing experience.  Students should be comfortable cutting and handling fabric and using a sewing machine.

Cost: $95 (includes the patterning tissue)

Materials: Students will need to provide the fabric and notions for their dress.  A materials list will be provided on registration.
