The 1930s Ngaio blouse

Improve your fabric handling, sewing and finishing skills as you make up a gorgeous blouse with a clever draped neckline with a gather detail and long or short sleeves.

Based on a vintage ’30s original, the blouse is best sewn in soft draping fabrics such as satins, crepes and georgettes in silks, rayons or synthetics, or very light cotton voiles, making this the perfect opportunity to learn how to work with those trickier delicate fabrics.

The 1930s Ngaio blouse

The class will cover how to cut, sew and work with slippery and delicate fabrics, fine finishes for lighter fabrics, and how to install a couture side-placket fastening (optional).

Suitable for those with high-intermediate and up sewing experience.  Students should expect to do some sewing outside of the class.

Cost: $100 (includes the pattern)

Materials: Students will need to provide the fabric and thread for their blouse.  A materials list will be provided on registration.
