Wide-legged 1930s & 40s trousers & shorts

Bring your inner Katherine Hepburn to the fashion fore this summer, and make a pair of wide-legged trousers or shorts based on original 1930s patterns.

We’ll use Wearing History’s wonderful ‘Smooth Sailing’ pattern to make a pair of flattering wide-legged trousers or shorts with a high waist, single slimming pleat, and optional cuffs and belt loops.  The pattern can even be altered to include pockets.

This class will teach basic trouser construction, minor pattern adaptions, and vintage sewing techniques.

Low Intermediate = Suitable for those with intermediate and higher sewing experience.  Level 3-5.  This is an excellent first-trouser pattern, and an excellent introduction to vintage sewing.   

Cost: $155 (includes bodice pattern & patterning tissue for your skirt).

Materials: Students will need to purchase their own pattern, and bring the materials called for in the pattern
