As Wellington’s craft specialists, we have great services available for you. Here are our most popular options – lampshades, pattern printing, sewing machine hire and cake tin hire.

Lampshade Making
We can help you with custom lampshades – make them yourself with our classes or have us make them for you.
We’d love you to give it a go – either with one of our kits (available in store or online here), or at one of our classes.
However, we understand that sometimes a person just wants someone else to make it for them, and we are happy to do that too. We make “Drum” lampshades from scratch, like in the photo, and can look at recovering your existing lampshade frame. For custom lampshades, prices start from $100 including everything but the fabric. We need to see the fabric before we can quote for the work.

Large Format Pattern Printing for PDF Sewing Patterns
Through our partnership with Niche Print, we offer large format pattern printing. Did you download a sewing pattern online? A quick and affordable large format print job with Niche Print will give you a paper version of the pattern.
You can pick up your Niche Print job from us at Made Marion. 
Sewing Machine Rental
We have three Janome sewing machines in store for customers to hire and use.
Cost is $10 an hour. Hire includes the use of snips, scissors, unpickers, bobbins, iron and ironing board. It does not include threads or other consumables, which you can purchase from the shop. Threads and other consumables in the sewing area are there for the use of classes only; please respect this.
We are happy to recommend the best machine for your task, and to show you how to thread it. However the service is not suitable those who are not already confident sewing machine users. If you would like to learn to sew, we have fantastic beginner classes!
So whether you want to repair your sleeping bag or jeans while travelling, to work on a very large sewing job in our spacious workshop area, or to tailor a suit, do feel free to come in and enjoy some practical creative time with us.

Cake Tin Hire for Weddings and Parties
We have a range of cake tins for hire. ALL cake tins are $12 for three days, plus a $10 bond that we will refund for return on time and in clean condition*
We provide cleaning instructions and will go over them with you -they are super easy! If they are not followed however the tins can become so rusty they require a 30 minute session with the steelo pads, and we think our time is worth something too. We hope you understand!
